Seminole County Fire Department crews saved a family’s cat that was stuck after the home became engulfed in smoke.
Emergency personnel responded to the residence in Winter Springs this week after receiving reports of heavy smoke. Upon arrival, crews assessed the residential structure fire and determined that the only occupant was the family cat.
Officials worked to rescue the cat and immediately began resuscitation by providing oxygen to the animal.
The cat was transported to the Winter Springs Veterinary Clinic and is expected to fully recover.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Earlier in the week, Orlando Fire Department crews responded to North Parramore Avenue after receiving reports of a kitten trapped in a storm drain. That kitten was saved and reunited with its owner.
