Robert Froats died September 9, 2022, in Orlando FL after a brief illness.
Born in Passaic NJ in 1945, he moved with his family to southern California in the late 1950s and in the early 1960s to Fort Walton Beach and later Titusville as part of the influx to Florida associated with the space program. He graduated from Titusville HS and Brevard Junior College, where he met future wife Rose, and earned a B.A. degree from Florida State University in 1967. His long career ranged from newspaper delivery boy to K12 teaching to industrial safety to child protection, where he retired as a Florida public servant in 2014. Family, friends, and colleagues knew him as warm, light-hearted, and someone who sought to live each day to the fullest. He was a parishioner of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Orlando and member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his brother Doug (1986), parents Margot & Bob (1995 & 1996), wife Rose (2014), and daughter Molly (2021). His survivors include son Dan, sister Lauren, daughter-in-law Silvia, son-in-law Joe, grandchildren Tristan and Helen, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
