Pedestrian killed at intersection near Orlando International Airport

A pedestrian was killed this morning while attempting to cross an intersection near the Orlando International Airport.

The fatal accident took place this morning near the intersection of Jetport Drive and Boggy Creek Road at around 4:22 a.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in a southerly direction across the lanes of Jetport Drive. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.

A 2020 Jeep Renegade being driven by a 19-year-old Orlando woman, was traveling eastbound on Jetport Drive on the inside lane, just east of Boggy Creek Road.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified by authorities, walked into the direct path of the Jeep. As a result, the front of the Jeep struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver was not injured and remained on the scene.
