On Monday, September 12, 2022, Jean Elizabeth Ogburn Miller, passed away at the age of 93. She was born on November 17, 1928 in Montour County, PA. Preceded in death were her parents, Sihon Cicero Ogburn, Bessie Bell Ogburn, brother Hugh Ogburn, and her eldest son, Michael Allen Miller.
Jean was the loving mother of survivors, Thomas Stewart Miller, Robert Blair Miller and David Brian Miller (Leah), grandchildren – Christopher Miller (Maureen), Kimberly Miller (Ryan), Kelly Miller, Justin Miller and Jason Miller, three great-grandchildren, Niece Margaret Berensen and Nephew Scott Ogburn.
She attended Randolph-Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated with honors in 1950, from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, majoring in psychology, sociology and religion as a triple Major. Jean was an honorary Phi Beta Kappa at her college, loved to travel around the world with the Friendship Force, and had a passion for helping young women to obtain their educational dreams by raising scholarships for over 40 years with the Miss America Organization.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 11:30 AM, at the DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory – Maitland Chapel, located at 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL
