Marjorie Bodine

Marjorie Ellen Bodine was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania to William and Elva Solomon on October 20th, 1933, and died peacefully on September 16th, 2022, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, aged 88 years. Marjorie met her future husband, James Frank Bodine on a blind date with someone else. A few months later, they were married and remained married for 68 years. From this marriage, her son, James Michael Bodine was born in July 1954 and her daughter, Erin Bodine Gabbard, was born in December 1960. Marjorie and her husband James “Jim” lived all over the world as a result of James’ Army career. Marjorie loved that life and all of the travel that accompanied it. After retiring from the Army, James accepted a job with Martin Marietta, now Lockheed Martin in Orlando. Upon moving to Orlando, Marjorie enjoyed working at Stein Mart in the ladies’ boutique, where she was able to grace all of the patrons with her iconic fashion style tips. Despite her love for fashion and helping others create a wardrobe they could call their own, Marjorie’s favorite job was being Nana to her granddaughter, Caitlin.

Marjorie spent many memorable years at her daughter Erin’s hair salon, Moriah Brandons, and was affectionately known by all who visited and worked at the salon as “Nana”. Marjorie was well known to provide her unsolicited opinion on every topic ranging from her distaste for torn jeans to her love for Republican politics to anyone who would listen. Marjorie would frequently purchase small gifts, Laffy taffy, peeps, cookies, and cake for those she loved in her life as she would see something, and it would remind her of that person. She never left a note with those gifts, but everyone always knew it was her. Marjorie loved her family and those she cared for fiercely. She will be missed tremendously by all those who knew her.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, James Frank Bodine. She is survived by her children James (Trisha) Bodine of Liberty Hill, TX, and Erin (Justin) Gabbard of Apopka, FL. Marjorie will be affectionately remembered by her grandchildren, Misty and Amy Bodine, Caitlin (Chris) Willis, Dylan, and Brazos Leismann, and great-granddaughter, Irelyn James Willis.

Services are being held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Baldwin Fairchild, 994 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
