An Orlando woman was killed and three other pedestrians were injured after they were struck by a vehicle that was crashed into after running a stop sign.

The fatal accident took place on Thursday, October 6, at 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of 23rd Street and S Nashville Avenue.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old Orlando male was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima eastbound on 23rd Street, approaching the intersection with S Nashville Avenue.

The vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection, where it was struck by a 2009 Dodge Ram being driven by a 68-year-old Orlando man.

After the Altima was it, it traveled off the roadway and onto a sidewalk where four pedestrians were walking. All four pedestrians were struck by the vehicle.

One of the pedestrians, a 44-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased on the scene. Two of the pedestrians, a 60-year-old man and a 50-year-old man from Orlando, sustained serious injuries. The fourth pedestrian, a 35-year-old man from Orlando, sustained minor injuries. The three men were transported to a local hospital.

The 17-year-old driver and his passenger, another 17-year-old male from Orlando, were transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital with minor injuries.

The 68-year-old man driving the Ram was not injured in the crash.
