The Sanford Police Department is looking for two men who tried to use counterfeit money to buy laptops at a local Walmart.

According to SPD, the men featured in this story attempted to purchase laptops with counterfeit bills at the Walmart located at 1601 Rinehart Road in Sanford on Friday, October 7.

After processing one of the transactions, a Walmart cashier noticed that the second bill was counterfeit. Before processing the second transaction, the men reached over the register and collected all of the bills that were on the counter, as well as the bills in the cashier’s hand.

The two men then exited the store.

The Sanford Police Department is asking anyone who may be able to identify the men to contact SPD at 407-688-5070.
