A bicyclist was killed this morning in Osceola County after he was struck by a pickup truck whose driver says he couldn’t see him.
The fatal accident took place around 6:28 a.m. this morning near the intersection of Nova Road and Gator Branch Road.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 56-year-old man from Kissimmee was traveling eastbound on Nova Road on his bicycle when he was struck by a 2021 Ford F-250 that was also traveling eastbound on Nova Road, just west of Gator Branch Road.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Rockledge man, advised that he was not able to see the bicyclist because it was dark and the bicycle did not have any lights.
The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
