51-year-old motorcyclist thrown from vehicle, killed in Longwood accident

A 51-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle and killed during an early morning accident in Longwood.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place near the intersection of Markham Woods Road and EE Williamson Road in Seminole County on Thursday, October 27, at around 1:40 a.m.

Authorities say the man, who was from Sorrento, was driving a 2022 Honda CMX1100D motorcycle northbound on Markham Woods Road, just south of its intersection with EE Williamson Road.

The motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and struck a raised curb. After striking the curb, the motorcycle ran off the roadway and the man was thrown off the vehicle.

The man was pronounced deceased on the scene.
