A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed after losing control of his vehicle on the Florida Turnpike.

The fatal accident took place around mile marker 254 of the Turnpike on Saturday, October 29, around 7:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the 35-year-old man, who was from Winter Garden, was riding a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle northbound on the highway, in the inside center lane.

for unknown reasons, the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rotate onto its left side. As a result, the rider was thrown off his motorcycle and the vehicle was propelled into the outside center lane, where it struck the rear of a 2018 Buick Encore being driven by a 23-year-old Fort Meade woman.

The motorcyclist was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. The woman was not injured and remained on-scene.
