The DeLand Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that took place over the weekend and left one person injured.
According to DPD, on Saturday, October 29, at around 9:55 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of S. Thompson Avenue in reference to an 18-year-old victim being shot multiple times. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Two suspects are alleged to have committed the shooting. Police believe both of the suspects were men but did not provide a description as to their ages, races, or appearances.
During a separate incident on Sunday, October 30, police were called to the Candlelight Oaks subdivision around 11:07 p.m. While canvassing the subdivision, a DeLand officer heard gunshots go off nearby.
No victims were found to be shot or injured as a result of the gunshots.
A witness reported to the officer that they were being followed by another vehicle when the shots were fired.
The DeLand Police Department is asking the public for any information on either shooting.
