Sanford police investigating fatal hit-and-run after finding man lying in roadway

The Sanford Police Department is asking the public for help to identify those responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a man over the weekend.

Sanford police officers were called to the scene of the fatal accident on Saturday, October 29, just before 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police located an adult male lying in the eastbound lanes of 25th Street, near Georgia Avenue.

The man was suffering from serious injuries that he sustained after he was struck by a vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Sanford Police Department investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash or has any information about those responsible to contact SPD at 407-688-5070.
