A pedestrian was killed after she was seen running out from behind bushes onto the Florida Turnpike and laying down on the roadway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place near mile marker 258 on the Florida Turnpike on Monday, November 14, at around 6:11 p.m.
Witnesses say that a woman, who has not been identified by authorities, emerged from behind a set of bushes and ran onto the southbound lanes of the Turnpike. The woman then laid down in the outside lane of the roadway.
Three vehicles struck the woman as she was laying in the roadway: A 2020 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 55-year-old Cocoa Beach woman, a 2006 Ford E-150 being driven by a 49-year-old Beverly Hills man, and a 2007 GMC C7 being driven by a 51-year-old Kissimmee man.
The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene. The three drivers were uninjured, according to the report.
