Anastasia B Wilhelm

Anastasia B. Wilhelm passed away November 8, 2022. Born to Marco and Maria Verzura, Nina lived in many countries before becoming an American citizen.

Fluent in Italian, Greek, English, and French, she also spoke some Spanish and Turkish. As a new citizen, she enjoyed a time teaching Italian to diplomats at the US Department of State. Nina loved making home cooked meals for family, playing the guitar, sewing, traveling, reading, and enjoying time with family and friends. She was fond of gardening – particularly of growing herbs and roses.

Her creative spirit led her to trying to paint in the last year of her life. Nina was a passionate mom – devoted to participating in the lives of both her children and grandchildren. A lifelong Catholic, her faith was deeply enriched by her involvement with Cursillo.

She is survived by her three children Marina Nice (Craig Carter), Carl Wilhelm (Beverly Wilhelm) and Annamaria Wilhelm (Jean-Paul Montoya) and four grandchildren: Christopher Wilhelm, Emily Wilhelm, Maxine Montoya and Tex Montoya. Nina was preceded in death by her first husband Lawrence Nice and by her husband of many years, Harry W. Wilhelm MD.
