On Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, John Herbert Christie Jr., father of three children passed away at age 80.
John was born on August 16, 1942, in Hope, IN to John Herbert Sr. and Nettie (Douglas) Christie. He was a proud Air Force Veteran. He was a hard-working truck driver for over 30 years.
On March 18, 1961, he married Judith Ann (Reinhardt) Christie. They raised three daughters, Tawny, Monica, and Sommer.
John had a passion for music. He liked to play the guitar. He loved old country songs and having a jam session with his family and friends. He loved horses and antique cars. He enjoyed working on cars and made sure to pass that wisdom down to his daughters. He loved driving his truck across the country and being on the open road. And never missed a chance to let you know he was the best truck driver behind the wheel.
He was a proud Leo and his character showed, he was strong and brave just like a lion. He was a charmer, with a great sense of humor. He would keep you laughing without even trying. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He was always helping people in need, even if he didn’t have much himself. He would be the first to tell you how handsome he was. John loved his daughters immensely and treasured his large, close-knit family.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Sr, and his mother, Nettie. His siblings Robert, Allen, Allene, Ed and Gene. And the mother of his children, Judith.
He is survived by his three daughters, Tawny Levasseur, Monica Pedigo, and Sommer Christie. His six grandchildren, Lindsey, Elijah, Cortni, Kali, Tyler, and Mekhi.
His brother Fred. His sisters Evelyn and Anita. As well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
We will forever miss the endless love and laughter that he brought us all.
May he rest in eternal peace.
