Driver killed on I-95 after car leaves roadway, hits utility pole

A 47-year-old Ormond Beach man was killed this morning after his vehicle left Interstate 95 and crashed into a utility pole.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place near mile marker 234 on I-95 on Monday, November 21, at around 7:20 a.m.

The man was driving a 2012 Infiniti G37 southbound on the highway in the center lane. For unknown reasons, the vehicle ran off the roadway and onto the right side of the highway.

The vehicle began rotating in a clockwise motion on the shoulder of the road before striking a Florida Department of Transportation utility pole.

The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
