A 21-year-old man was killed last night after his motorcycle struck another vehicle while it was attempting to turn.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Thursday, November 24, at around 7:40 p.m.
A 21-year-old Casselberry man was driving a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R westbound on E Lake Drive, on the inside lane, approaching the road’s intersection with Bird Lane.
A 2011 Mazda CX-9 was traveling southbound on Bird Lane, approaching the intersection of E. Lake Drive in the left turn lane. That vehicle was being driven by a 63-year-old man from Winter Springs.
The Mazda attempted to make a left turn at the intersection in order to travel eastbound on E. Lake Drive and entered the direct path of the motorcycle. As a result, the front of the motorcycle struck the front left of the Mazda.
The motorcyclist was transported to Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Mazda and his passenger, an 87-year-old Oviedo woman, were both uninjured in the crash.
