Bruce Hatfield, born in Evansville, IN on September 17, 1953, passed away of natural causes on November 21, 2022, in hospice in Altamonte Springs, FL surrounded by close family.
Bruce was born to his parents, John Hatfield and Edna Grimwood. He grew up with his two siblings, older brothers, John Bradley Hatfield II and Robert Hatfield.
After graduating from Reitz Memorial High school in 1971, he attended the University of Southern Indiana. In 1982 he married his wife of 40 years, Kathy Hatfield (Burress). In 1983 they had a daughter, Meghan Brodie (Hatfield). Bruce was always proud of both his wife and daughter.
Bruce worked for himself for 40+ years in home building and developing. He had a passion and eye for his beautiful work. He loved his work, but his favorite places to be were the golf course and the beach. He retired in Florida in 2018 to be closer to the beach and his daughter, son-in-law (Timothy Brodie), and grandkids, Jillian and Dillon. He enjoyed being a grandpa and never missed a celebration with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna (Grimwood) Hatfield, his brother, John Bradley Hatfield II, his in-laws, Martha and Delmar Burress, and his Brothers-in-Law, Patrick Alvey and Jerry Joe Bruning.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Hatfield, his daughter, Meghan Brodie (Hatfield), Son-in-Law, Tim Brodie, Grandkids, Jillian and Dillon Brodie, Brother, Robert Hatfield (Chuney), Sister-in-Law, Judith Hatfield, Sister-in-Law, Glenda Alvey, Sister-in-Law, Betty Housman (Dave), Brother-in-Law, Robert Bruning (Peggy) and wonderful nieces and nephews. Bruce will also be missed by his “sweetie”, dog Gia Hatfield.
