Construction of new Popeyes on I-Drive complete

Construction on a new Popeyes in south Orlando is complete.

Located at 36 Floridays Resort, just off International Drive, the new restaurant finished construction earlier this year. It is located next door to Orlando Self Storage, which opened earlier this year.

An opening date has not been announced for the new Popeyes.

Currently, Popeyes operates over a dozen restaurants around Orlando, including five locations along Orange Blossom Trail. There are over 200 Popeyes locations throughout the entire state of Florida, and over 2,874 stores throughout the United States.

A Popeyes that occupied a popular space in Winter Park closed down recently after over 20 years in business in light of a bevy of competition that has opened in the area.

The restaurant joins multiple others nearby that have opened in the Lake Buena Vista area in the past year. That includes both Crave & Go and P.F. Changs To Go, both takeout/delivery concepts operated by White Castle and P.F. Changs, respectively, in the past month.
