The city of Winter Park will host multiple events this week to celebrate the upcoming Christmas holiday.
On Thursday, December 1, the city will host its 44th Annual Christmas in the Park celebration at Central Park, which is located at 150 W Morse Boulevard. The event begins at 6:15 p.m. when seven leaded-glass windows will be lit. The windows will be lit through 8:30 p.m. The windows are memorials to prominent women who served on the volunteer Board of Managers during the planning and construction of the Hunt building from 1881 to 1883.
On Friday, December 2, the city will host its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Winter on the Avenue celebrations from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will include the presentation of the city’s holiday tree in Central Park, a symbolic Menorah lighting, live music, snow slides, s’mores, and additional activities. At 7 p.m., Popcorn Flicks in the Park will screen Mickey’s A Christmas Carol and It’s a Wonderful Life.
On Saturday, December 3, the city will host its annual Leadership Winter Park Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for $7 per person at the Central Park Main Stage from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Beginning at 9 a.m., the 70th annual Winter Park “Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade will make its way down Park Avenue and will feature holiday-themed floats and local figures.
