A 14-year-old boy was arrested and has confessed to the murder of a 15-year-old boy at an Orlando neighborhood center in January.
Orlando Police Department Homicide Detectives arrested Tydeareon Devonte Sessler on Thursday, December 1, in connection with the shooting death of Corey Jones.
Jones was found in the parking lot of the Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center on January 22. At the time, Jones was standing with several other teenagers when he was shot and killed.
Located at 800 Grand Street in Orlando, the Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center was officially opened this spring after extensive renovations.
Homicide detectives spent months investigating the case in order to identify a possible suspect. Once they identified Sessler, they obtained a juvenile court order and arrested him.
During an interview, Sessler confessed to committing the murder.
Sessler is being charged with second degree murder with a firearm.
