A 22-year-old Melbourne woman was killed after witnesses say she walked away from an argument, was struck by a vehicle, and run over by another.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place near the intersection of State Road A1A and Moonlight Drive on Wednesday, December 7, at 6:35 p.m.

Witnesses say the woman was arguing with two other females on the east shoulder of SR A1A. The woman walked away from the other two individuals and into the roadway, where she entered the path of a Subaru Outback being driven by a 79-year-old woman from Satellite Beach.

After the pedestrian was struck, she was thrown into the southbound lane, where she was run over by a Hyundai Elantra being driven by a 38-year-old Melbourne Beach man.

Authorities say that the crash occurred next to Brevard County Fire Station #64 and that the woman received immediate medical attention. She was transpored to the Holmes Regional Medical Center, where she was declared deceased upon arrival.
