Minion Land, Minions-themed ride coming to Universal

The Minions made famous by the Despicable Me movie franchise series will soon takeover an entire section of Universal Orlando Resort.

Minion Land is set to open in the summer of 2023 at Universal Orlando, according to a statement issued by the company on Thursday.

The new section of the park will feature Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, an interactive ride that will feature a blaster game experience.

The ride will combine screens, interactive gaming, and physical sets to create a game-based adventure with immersive environments, transporting guests to “Villain-Con,” the biggest criminal convention on the planet. There, riders will compete to become the newest member of the “The Vicious 6,” a group of supervillains featured in the film Minions: The Rise of Gru.

The new area will be positioned towards the front of the park, near the gates, and will include the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, as well as a new, Minion Café.
