DuckTales-themed scavenger hunt opening at EPCOT this week

A new scavenger hunt based on a popular 1980s cartoon series will make its debut at Disney World’s EPCOT park this week.

DuckTales World Showcase Adventure will officially go live at EPCOT on Friday, December 16, according to theme park officials.

First announced over three years ago in December 2019, the new scavenger hunt adventure is playable for visitors through the company’s Play Disney Parks app.

Although details on the new experience have not been released, the Play Disney Parks app provides “unique experiences and activities that bring surrounding environments to life,” according to Disney’s website.

The new experience, which will make use of augmented reality technology, will have visitors helping Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Scrooge McDuck and others defeat “dastardly villains and recover the lost 7 Plunders of the World on an amazing adventure that spans the globe,” according to the Play Disney Parks app.
