Herman McClenton

The Osceola County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body of a 73-year-old Eustis man who went missing in Kissimmee on Thanksgiving Day.

The body of Herman McClenton was found on Thursday, December 1, in a swampy area along SR 429, approximately one mile from the Kissimmee home where he went missing a week prior.

McClenton was last seen around 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, in the vicinity of Secret Key Cove in Kissimmee.

McClenton was originally from the Eustis area and had gone out for a walk when his family members said he did not return. The body that was recovered had clothing that matched the description of what McClenton was last seen wearing, and was submerged in a thick, swampy area.

Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez says that crews worked day and night, using a team of dogs to eventually find the scent of McClenton.
