A 28-year-old Kissimmee man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross U.S. Highway 192 in Osceola County this weekend.

The fatal accident took place on Saturday, December 24, at around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Old Vineland Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking north across the eastbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 192 and was not in a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian entered the path of a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe being driven by a 40-year-old man from West Melbourne.

The pedestrian was transported to Osceola Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver and his passengers, a 40-year-old Melbourne woman and a 9-year-old girl, were uninjured in the crash.
