Sonny’s BBQ closes Winter Park location after rodent activity found

A local Sonny’s BBQ was forced to temporarily close its restaurant after an inspector cited rodent activity during a recent visit.

Located at 3390 University Boulevard in Winter Park, Sonny’s BBQ was forced to temporarily close on Tuesday, December 20, after the restaurant failed an inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

According to a report filed with FDBPR, the inspector cited five violations, including one considered high priority.

The high priority violation cited was the presence of rodent activity, as evidenced by rodent droppings found across the kitchen, including 14 rodent droppings on top of a dish machine.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen on Wednesday, December 21, after a follow up inspection revealed only two basic health code violations.
