Sushi Sake opens first location in Central Florida

A popular sushi and sake restaurant with over two dozen restaurants in and around Miami has opened its first location in Central Florida.

Sushi Sake officially opened its doors at 804 N. Orlando Avenue in Winter Park on Monday, December 19.

City of Winter Park officials gathered for a ribbon cutting recently to celebrate the grand opening of the business, which is situated across from CVS in the former home of Boston Market.

The restaurant features an extensive menu filled with Japanese culinary staples including gyoza, pork shumai, and its namesake, sushi.

Diners have dozen of sushi roll combinations to choose from, including a variety of Florida-inspired ones, like the Miami Heat Roll, or the Marlins Roll.

In addition to sushi, the restaurant offers hibachi specials, as well as katsu and teriyaki-based dinners.

The first Sushi Sake location was opened in 2009 by brothers James and Argelio Aguayo in south Florida. Since then, multiple locations have sprouted up in the the area, including stops in Miami Beach, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, and Boca Raton.
