Winter Park will play host to the Cheez-It Bowl Parade of Bands this week in the hours leading up to the matchup between Florida State University and Oklahoma University.

The bands from the two schools will participate in the parade on Thursday, December 29, beginning at 11 a.m. Cheerleaders and mascots will march through downtown Winter Park and perform a “Bandtastic Game Day Preview” in Central Park.

The parade will start at the intersection of Park Avenue and Lyman Avenue, heading north on Park Avenue through downtown Winter Park. After turning west onto Garfield Avenue, the procession will make its way into Central Park to perform.

As a result of the parade, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Park Avenue will be closed between Comstock and Canton Avenues. Morse Boulevard will also be closed between Park Avenue and New York Avenue. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., Interlachen Avenue will be closed between Fairbanks Avenue and New England Avenue. Lyman Avenue will be closed between Knowles Avenue and Interlachen Avenue.

The Cheez-It Bowl will take place at Camping World Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
