A cat was saved and a dog was killed in a house fire that consumed a residence in Altamonte Springs on Friday morning.
Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to calls regarding a house fire in Altamonte Springs on Friday, December 30.
Upon arrival, multiple crews advised smoke and flames were visible from the street. The fire was knocked down and kept from spreading to the rest of the home.
During their efforts, firefighters entered the home and were able to rescue a cat from the flames. A dog was trapped in the home and was killed as a result of the fire.
No other injuries were reported and the Altamonte Building and Fire Safety department conducted a fire investigation afterwards.
