It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Bruno Bellido, Jr. of Orlando, FL. He passed away peacefully at the UCF Lake Nona Hospital surrounded by his loved ones at age 74, on December 24, 2022.
Bruno was born in Panama City, Panama on August 5, 1948. He met his spouse Lydia Bellido in 1968 in Miraflores and they were married in 1971. In June 1972, their first son, Lawrence Alberto was born. In February 1974, Bruno and Lydia made the decision to move to Chicago, IL, U.S.A. where two of his childhood best friends Juan Calvo and Luis “Lucho” Scott already resided. Bruno’s daughter, Karla Helena, was born in May 1974, and son Kenneth Richard was born in February 1976.
In Chicago, Bruno worked for S&C Electric Company. He was active in his community and played many sports in the company’s leagues including golf, basketball, and bowling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the gun range, playing the piano, cooking, bbq’s in the park with family and friends, and dancing the traditional Panamanian folklore dance with his wife. They practiced weekly and participated in shows throughout the city. He taught his children how to cook, fish, play sports, work on cars, and to live life to the fullest.
In 1982, the family purchased their first home in Hanover Park, IL where they lived for 4 years. Tired of the commute to the city and the snow, the family moved to Orlando, FL in 1986. Bruno was an entrepreneur and opened a restaurant when they first moved to Florida which the family operated for a few years. He eventually transitioned into Real Estate and Time Share Sales and spent 27 years in the industry. He retired in 2015 where he still remained active by fishing and spending time with his family. He was the life of the party, always smiling, laughing, sharing tales and jokes. He would love to be remembered this way.
Bruno was predeceased by his parents Bruno and Luisa Bellido. He is survived and deeply missed by his spouse Lydia Bellido of 51 years; his children, Lawrence Bellido and his spouse Jessy Vales, Karla Bellido Cirizola and her spouse Leo Cirizola, Kenneth Bellido and his partner Laura Persichilli; and his sister Luisa “Luchita” Bellido.
His memory lives on with his family and friends who loved him dearly.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Church located at 12600 Marsfield Ave., Orlando, FL 32837, on January 19, 2022, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization Bruno supported and made donations to.
