$100,000 in boat equipment stolen from DeLand business

Local police are asking the public for help to identify those responsible for stealing $100,000 in boat equipment from a business in DeLand.

DeLand Police Department is currently investigating the theft of nearly $100,000 in boat equipment that was stolen on Thursday night from Mystic Power Boats, which is located at 1848 Patterson Avenue in DeLand.

Employees at the business told officers that someone gained entry into the facility by cutting the fence behind the boats after the business had closed for the day.

The next morning, staff noticed several high-value items missing, including outboard boat motors and boat speakers. In total, the stolen merchandise had a value of $98,220.

Investigators are currently reviewing video surveillance from the business and are asking the public for help to identify the suspects.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call the DeLand Police Department at 386-626-7400. Anonymous tips may be submitted through the Volusia Crimewatch website.
