Edward Joseph Budy, Sr.

Edward Joseph Budy Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2023. He was born August 5, 1933 in Norwalk, CT to Joseph Budy and Anna (Toth) Budy. He is predeceased by his brother Elmer Buddy and his sister Adele Galbraith.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, Uncle, and friend. He had an infectious smile and a laugh that will live on forever.

He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving his country with pride in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Mount Baker (AE-4).

Prior to shipping out for the Navy, he met and fell in love with Una Dunham at a textile plant where they both worked. They were married at St. Thomas of the Apostles in Norwalk, CT on June 26, 1954. They went on to have two children and eventually he moved his family to Orlando, Florida in 1968.

He was employed by the Orlando Sentinel as a returns manager in the Circulation Department, until he retired after 25 plus years. After his retirement, he worked part time at Baldwin Fairchild, then moved to Newcomer Funeral Home in Orlando.

He is predeceased by his loving and devoted wife,of 64 years, Una Budy in 2018. It brings us great comfort during this difficult time knowing that they are finally reunited.

He is survived by his son Edward Joseph (Bonnie) Budy Jr., daughter Peggy (Thomas) Sterling, his grandchildren Christopher (Akiko) Budy, Tiffany (Luke) Vasquez, Casey (Alex) Sophinos, Stacey (Chad) Wheeler, and his five great grandchildren Shyoji Budy, Takashi Budy, Gabrielle Vasquez, Isabella Vasquez, Sterling Sophinos.
