Ruth M. Gehrlich, age 96 of Orlando, Florida, died peacefully at her home in Orlando, under the care of Vitas Hospice, on January 4, 2023. She was born December 15, 1926 at her home in McCartyville, Ohio. The daughter of Bernard O and Frances M (Drees) Grilliot. She was married to James W Gehrlich who preceded her in death. Ruth was an avid gardener. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She also enjoyed doing crafts and traveling for leisure and to visit her family.
Survivors include 6 children: Deborah Burden (John), Jeffrey Gehrlich (Dianna), Karen Martens (Pat), David Gehrlich (Judy), Marsha Semple (Rick) and Keith Gehrlich (Sherry). She was preceded in death by sons: James L Gehrlich, Ronald W Gehrlich (Linda) and Daniel S Gehrlich.
She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren. One Grandchild, James Patrick Martens, preceded her in death.
9 Brothers and sisters preceded her in death, Sister Vincent dePaul, Deloris Frilling, Marlene Schwarz, Thomas Grilliot, Gerald Grilliot, Naomi Schroeder, Bernard Grilliot, Patricia Joan Grilliot, and Thelma Kaup.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 7 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetary in Wapakoneta, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held following the burial in St. Joseph’s hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to National Association for Home Care and Hospice.
