Volusia Community Arts reports stolen trailer, equipment, instruments; police investigating

Local law enforcement authorities are looking for those responsible for stealing a trailer from the Volusia Community Arts organization that contained dozens of instruments and equipment.

On January 4, a trailer containing tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from Volusia Community Arts.

“It is with a profound sense of loss that we share this with you. Last night, someone stole our trailer full of equipment and musical instruments. This was tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and things that we cannot successfully function without,” reads a statement from the organization.

Among the many items stolen was 56 music stands, a microphone stand, tambourines, a xylophone, jingle bells, and dozens of other pieces of equipment.

“We are saddened that this has happened, but we will not let this stop us from sharing our love of music with the community,” says the organization. The group has established a GoFundMe for donations to help replace the equipment.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office detectives are currently investigating the theft and are asking the public for any information that will help identify the suspects responsible.

If you have any information that can help police contact VCSO at 386-248-1777, or submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Stoppers of North East Florida at 888-277-8477.
