On January 11, 2023, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Teresa Ventura Calo passed away at the age of 85 in Orlando, Florida. Teresa was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on March 13, 1937 and grew up in Bushwick Brooklyn.
She worked hard and gave her all to raise her two children, first born son Juan and her daughter Diana in the Bronx, NY. On December 20, 1973 she married the love of her life, Guy Collat in Rego Park Queens, NY. Teresa and Guy worked at the Social Security Administration for over three decades and enjoyed 49 beautiful years of marriage together. Teresa faithfully studied the Bible, recited scriptures, and was an extremely generous donor to numerous charities. She enjoyed daily walks with her husband Guy, crime TV shows, and cooking for her family. Teresa was the epitome of an elegant, resilient, intelligent, and compassionate woman. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all of her family and friends.
Teresa is survived by her husband Guy, children Juan and Diana, grandchildren Luz, Jonathan, and Andrew, and great-granddaughters Leilani and Kaila.
Teresa’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm at Porta Coeli, located at 2801 East Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34743. Flowers may be sent to Porta Coeli.
