One dead, others injured in shooting at intersection in Sanford

One person was killed and multiple others were injured after a shooting at a popular intersection in Seminole County.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded last night to reports of a shooting between two vehicles at the intersection of State Road 46A and Rinehart Road.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple victims suffering from injuries sustained through gunfire.

One of the victims, who has not been identified by police, has since succumbed to their injuries. Multiple others were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, but police say they do not believe it was a random act.
