A popular pub in downtown Orlando was forced to temporarily close its doors last week after an inspector found multiple health code violations, including the presence of rodent and roach activity.
City Pub & Bitters & Bottles temporarily closed its location at 861 N Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando on Wednesday, January 11 after failing an inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
According to a report filed with the state, two dozen health code violations were cited during the visit, including eight considered high priority.
Among the high priority violations was the presence of roaches and rodents. The report indicates that during the visit, over 100 rodent droppings were found in the kitchen. Additionally, live roaches were found in the kitchen and small, flying insects were found in the food preparation areas.
The inspector issued two stop sales, including one on bags of grits that had chew/gnaw marks on them.
The restaurant was permitted to reopen the following day, Thursday, January 19, after only seven violations were cited.
