Joe Davis Miller, Jr., 67, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2023. He was born at Brooks Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on December 23, 1955 to Jackie Beatrice Howton Miller and Joe Davis Miller.
Joe spent most of his life in the Hill Country of Texas. He worked for many years as a plumber, then a landscaper, and had recently retired due to COPD. He moved to Orlando, Florida in August 2022. Joe loved the Lord, and was a wonderful person, a great husband, father, and “poppa.”
Joe graduated from Tivy High School in the class of 1974. He joined the Navy in 1975 and was stationed on the USS Sperry. He married Karen Conn in May 1975. They had two beautiful children together, Jodi Michelle and Christopher Gregory; they divorced in 1984. Joe then married Sherry Turrentine in 1986; they were married until 1999. Joe married Kathleen D. Lydick Kuker, his high school sweetheart, in November 2004. They were married for 18 years, until the time of his death.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joe Davis Miller; mother, Jackie B. Howton Miller; sister, Patricia Miller Love; and brother, Jerry Lynn Miller. He is survived by his sister, Paula Jean Miller Schrader; wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Miller; children, Jodi M. Miller (Chris Moore) and Christopher G. Miller (Courteney); step-children, Joshua J. Kuker (Martha), Christopher J. Kuker (Michelle), Michelle L. Land (Jessie), Rusty Spears and Stacy Spears; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Ella M. Miller, C. Parker Miller, Kadence K. Land, Kameron A. Land, J. Levi Kuker and Lee Spears.
Services will be held at a later date in Texas.
