Orlando man killed after SUV strikes car disabled on SR 429

An Orlando man whose vehicle became disabled after an accident on State Road 429, was killed after he was struck by another vehicle.

The fatal accident took place on January 20, at around 11 p.m. on State Road 429, near mile marker 10.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2009 Nissan Altima was stopped in the outside lane of the southbound portion of the highway. The vehicle became disabled after it was involved in an accident approximately 10 minutes prior.

A 2023 Chevy Blazer was traveling southbound on SR 429, in the outside lane of the highway when it failed to stop for the Altima and crashed into the back of it.

The driver of the Altima, a 26-year-old Orlando man, was transported to Horizon West Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Blazer, a 35-year-old man from Austin, and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Austin, were both transported to Celebration Hospital with minor injuries.
