A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a 26-year-old man, who was found dead by police in a parking lot of a west Orlando apartment complex.
Orlando Police Department officers responded to 2803 W Arlington Street on Friday, January 20, at around 5:23 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police located the body of Zedekiah M. Lafayette, who was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
According to law enforcement authorities, Lafayette was walking with 34-year-old Willie Shade and another individual when Shade threw him to the ground, shot him, and ran away.
As police investigated the scene, hours later, Shade returned to Maxwell Terrace apartments and was spotted and taken into custody.
Shade is being charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. He is currently being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.
