A 41-year-old woman, who recently moved with her family to Tallahassee from the Orlando area, claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off.
Darlene Vazquez Sierra claimed a $1 million prize for the Florida Lottery’s Mystery Multiplier Scratch-Off game at the organization’s headquarters in Tallahassee.
Sierra chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $798,985.
Sierra told lottery officials that she and her family recently moved from the Orlando area to Tallahassee and that the winnings will help the family purchase a new home.
“We like Tallahassee so far, and this will definitely help in our search for a home,” said Sierra.
Sierra purchased her winning ticket from the Star Food & Gas located at 3601 Woodville Highway in Tallahassee. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The $10 Mystery Multiplier scratch-off game launched in May 2022 and features more than $148.1 million in total cash prizes. In
