UPDATE: The roadway has been reopened as of Tuesday morning.
A stretch of U.S. 192 in Osceola County has been closed this morning as a result of a prescribed burn.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the highway is closed between St. Johns Heritage Parkway in Brevard County and Deer Park Road in Osceola County due to smoke from a prescribed burn.
Troopers have been monitoring the area all night until visibility issues developed.
Alternate routes are State Road 520 to Deer Park Road, then back to U.S. 192. For those traveling south of the area, take State Road 60 to U.S. 441, then north to U.S. 192.
The roadway will remain closed until visibility improves, according to authorities.
