A local Afropop group will perform at a local library this weekend as part of the county’s recognition of Black History Month.
Wassalou, which is billed as the only band of its kind in Florida, will perform at the Orlando Public Library on Saturday, February 18, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The band combines language and colorful, traditional costumes to bring a dancing, singing performance “straight out of Africa,” according to an event listing.
The library is located at 101 E Central Boulevard. For more information or to register for the event, visit the In-Person: Music in the Library – Wassalou event page.
