A Japanese buffet with locations in Seminole and Orange counties was forced to temporarily close one of its restaurants after a health inspector cited multiple health code violations.
Mikado Japanese Seafood Buffet was forced to close its doors on Wednesday, February 15, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
According to the report, the business, which is located at 851 S State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs, was cited for at least 10 code violations, including 2 considered high priority.
Among the violations cited was the presence of roaches, as evidenced by multiple roaches found around the restaurant. That includes five found under a food preparation cooler, and another five found across from the cook line.
Additionally, the inspector found that raw chicken was being stored above fully cooked items in a walk-in cooler.
The restaurant was permitted to reopen on Thursday, February 16, after the inspector cited only three basic violations.
