A 40-year-old Orlando man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Rio Grande Avenue.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Rio Grande Avenue and 24th Street on Saturday, February 25, at around 7:45 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 43-year-old Orlando man was driving a Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Rio Grande Avenue in the inside travel lane.
The pedestrian was began crossing Rio Grande Avenue in an easterly direction, walking outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian entered the path of the vehicle and was struck.
The man was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver, as well as three other occupants of the vehicle, were not injured in the crash.
