Trusting in the hope and promise of the resurrection, Diana Lynn Gallup died February 27, 2023 in the care of her Lord, her family, and the compassionate staff at AdventHealth Hospice in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
She was born November 12, 1951 in Grayling, Michigan, the first child of Donald Jay and Berdaline [Gerig] Cleveland, and grew up in a pastor’s home in Michigan and Florida.
Diana graduated from Lakeland High School, Lakeland, Florida in 1969 and attended Spring Arbor College in Michigan, graduating in 1973 with a degree in elementary education.
Diana and David Charles Gallup were married in Winona Lake, Indiana, on August 23, 1975. Their 47+ years together were spent in Pasadena, California, Anchorage, Alaska and in the Orlando area (since 1989).
Along with her Christian faith, the greatest joy of Diana’s life was being a wife to David and mother to their two daughters, Claudia Lynn Gallup and Sara Marie Gallup.
Over the past 30 years, Diana baked cinnamon rolls each fall for clients in David’s real estate practice – well over 21,000 rolls in all. In an era saturated with social media marketing, the story made front page news in the Orlando Sentinel.
Diana was a covenant partner at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando and took enormous delight in her church family. She is survived by her husband, David, and their two daughters Claudia and Sara; her brother, Allen Gerig Cleveland and sister, Vicki Marie [Cleveland] Macaluso, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
A Celebration of the Resurrection in Diana’s honor will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 10, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
