Frances Kaufman

Frances Kaufman, passed away at the age of 99 on March 1, 2023. She was a devoted wife to Jerome, and loving mother to Mitchell and Marten. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Winter Garden.

Frances was born in London on February 27, 1924. She met Jerome, a Corporal while he was stationed in London during WWII. After the war, they married and she moved to America. Jerome remained in the Army, and they traveled together to different posts including Wyoming, Texas and even Panana. They settled in Newport News, Virginia and she raised her two children with love and devotion.

A lifelong teacher, Frances shared her love of reading with countless students. She volunteered weekly as an aide until she was 96, most recently with Innovation Montessori in Winter Garden. Her hobbies included painting and knitting and she donated hundreds of her hand-crafted baby blankets to the Creation from the Heart organization at Winnie Palmer Hospital.

She is survived by her son, Marten, daughter in law, Kristina and grandsons, Ethan and Aaron.

A Celebration of Life for Frances will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 428 E Plant St. Winter Garden, FL 34787, followed by a Reception from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM.
