A man was killed on Sunday evening after he was struck by a vehicle as he was attempting to cross Interstate 95.
The fatal accident took place on Sunday, March 5, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old man from Michigan was driving a 2022 Toyota Camry southbound on I-95, just south of W Granada Boulevard in the center lane.
The pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes of I-95 from west to east when he entered the direct path of the vehicle.
As a result, the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The man, who has not been identified by FHP, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was not injured and remained on the scene. His passenger, a 25-year-old woman from Michigan, was transported to Halifax Daytona Hospital with minor injuries.
