FDOT public hearings for widening of Florida Turnpike in Osceola County

The Florida Department of Transportation is hosting two public hearings for a new project that seeks to widen a stretch of the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County.

The hearings will take place on Monday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

During the hearings, officials will provide details regarding the widening of a 7-mile section of the Turnpike from Neptune Road to just north of Osceola Parkway. The widening will increase the number of travel lanes from four to eight.

The first hearing will take place virtually, and all may attend using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or telephone in “listen-only” mode.

The second hearing will take place in person at St. Cloud Community Center, which is located at 3101 17th Street in St. Cloud.

The virtual hearing will begin with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m., followed by public comment. The in-person hearing will host an informal open house at 5:30 p.m., with a formal presentation scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and public comments thereafter.

For more information on the project, or to register for the public hearing, visit the Widen Turnpike Mainline from Neptune Road to Osceola Parkway webpage.
